With 40 of the PRCA’s best bull riders competing for a total purse of $75,000, and 52 of the roughest and toughest bulls around, the RODEOHOUSTON Xtreme Bulls was a must-see performance.
A world championship bull riding tour created by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association/ProRodeo, PRCA Xtreme Bulls debuted in 2003. The cowboys are selected to compete in this event based on world standings, tour performance and qualifying events. RODEOHOUSTON was the second stop in the inaugural year and set a record for attendance at a bull riding event with a paid attendance of 60,278.
Bull riders compete in a semifinal round, with a minimum of 12 qualified riders advancing to the final round during the same performance. If there are not 12 qualified rides (making it to the 8 second mark), then the contestants with the longest completed times will advance.
