Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

Paint the Rodeo Pink

"Paint the Rodeo Pink" Day is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's effort to raise breast cancer awareness. As Houston's largest and most visible entertainment and charitable event, the Show is able to draw attention to the issue of breast cancer awareness with a large and diverse group of fans. Patrons, exhibitors and contestants are encouraged to wear pink as a show of support.

The first "Paint the Rodeo Pink" Day was held in 2006, when singer Sheryl Crow was forced to cancel her RODEOHOUSTON performance due to breast cancer surgery. Breast cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge took Crow's place in the Show's line-up.
